Answers to all of your questions about micro needing

What is skin needling ?

Essentially, micro needling is the use of very fine, short needles that will puncture the outermost layer of the skin in order to create microscopic breaks in the blood vessels located right beneath the epidermis for the purpose of rejuvenation. The punctures of the skin will lead to the generation of collagen and elastin in the dermal layer which results in younger looking skin.

Is skin needling for me?

Micro needling is safe and effective on every skin type and colour and it can be used for a wide range of purposes. from reducing cellulite to favorising hair growth and minimising the appearance of  acne scars, pores, pigmentation and wrinkles, there are many advantages of skin needling.

Who should avoid skin needling?

Skin needling is not recommended to treat active acne, as it will result in the spread of the infection and the apparition of more breakouts. You should also be cautious if your skin is subject to rosacea and eczema and we would recommend consulting your dermatologist.

Does skin needling hurt?

It is definitely not comfortable, let’s put it that way. However, before proceeding to the treatment, we apply a numbing cream on the skin which makes the process less painful. Majority of clients felt slight sensitivity around the lip area and forehead area, but when asked to rate the sensitivity out of ten, most described it as a 3 or 4.

How long before I can see results?

Skin needling offers immediate results. Your skin will look plump, luminous and radiant for a couple of weeks after the redness disappears. However, it is recommended to have 4 to 6 needling sessions in the first year to observe more permanent results and improvement over time. The collagen induction will continue to increase in the dermis over the next 18 months. After the first year, it is recommended to get one or two treatments every 12/15 months to help observe more long-lasting results and keep up the collagen production.
